Tapian Ngern is generally represented by silver, silver-plating or nickel-plating while Tapian Thong represented by gold, gold-plating, brass or copper.

According to Thai Buddhistic religious legends, before Lord Buddha enlightened Buddhaship, he was born uncountable lives, and each of his life he practiced Bodhisatwa Dhamma. Once he was born a Tapian fish. The Bodhisatawa Tapian fish was so kind, he helped protect merchants sailing for voyage journey and blessed them for good trade.

LP Tae who created and blessed the efficacious Tapians learned magical incantations from the two great Nakonpathom teachers, LP Dha of Wat Paniang Taek and LP Chaem of Wat Takong; both LPs were the pre-war period famous Guru monks. LP Tae could make amulets so efficacious due to his great magical knowledges and ultra Dhamma. LP Tae passed away in B.E.2524 at the age of 90.
