| This a rare LP Chong rian NangKwak Baisema of early 2500s.
Baisema-shaped medallion is a popular art between early 2490s-early 2500s. Baisema is a marking stone or concrete that shows the area of
Bosth. Bosth = temple's main hall
that places the main major Buddha image, and it's also the building for monks to do
important Sangkha's activities, such as daily chanting, ordination ceremonies, incantation
ceremonies, etc. So the above rian has its sacred form by its nature.
The NangKwak rian's front bottom edge has Khom scripts read: Ae-Hi-La-Bha, which means
FORTUNE COMES NOW, it's a sacred phrase to draw in Wealth and Fortune.
The stand-alone fortune phrase "Ae-Hi-La-Bha" if becomes a part of drawing in
Wealth & Fortune Katha, it will change to " Ae-Hi-La-Bhang".
Example:
a) ....BhaHaChaNaNang AeHiJittang AeHiManusSanang AeHiLaBhang
AeHiMetta ChomPooTiepae ManusSanang Itthiyo Puriso Jittang.....
b) ....AeHi JittaNama RachaWa AeHi
LaBhang AeHi JittaWinyaNa....
The reverse side of the rian is a five-looped YantHa " Na Mo Budh Dha Ya" ( five
Buddhas), so it means the rian also has comprehensive properties & efficacies, such as
Metta, KlaewKlaad, etc.
LP Chong made & blessed many various types of NangKwak. Most of us know NangKwak very well, she is a god of Wealth &
Fortune. Some Teochew Chinese in Thailand call NangKwak as "Cai Nia"
